SANT SEBASTIÀ
Located in the Ciutat Vella district, San Sebastià is the beach most closest to Barcelona city on the Eastern end of the coastline. Together with Barceloneta, it is the oldest and most traditional, with sporting clubs of great relevance in the city for their sea-related activities. Sant Sebastià is also one of the longest stretches of beach, measuring approximately 1,100 m.
BARCELONETA
Approximately 1,100 m long, together with the Sant Sebastià beach, Barceloneta is one of the biggest in Barcelona, and it is also one of the oldest and most traditional beach in the city. It is a favourite amongst our foreign visitors and it is commonly used by youth groups and for school activities. Due to its location and proximity to the metro and many bus lines, the majority of its users get to the beach by public transport.
NOVA ICÀRIA
Nova Icària Beach is 400 m long and is situated in the centre of the city's coastline. A significant amount of the people who frequent Nova Icària live outside Barcelona and many of the are foreigners.
BOGATELL
Bogatell is approximately 600 m long and is one of the beaches that was revitalised when the Barcelona seafront was restored during the 1990s. The Bogatell beach is one of the most appreciated amongst Barcelona coastal visitors, amongst other reasons, due to its safety.
MAR BELLA
Mar Bella beach is approximately 500 m long. It is located to the East of the Barcelona coastline and is one of the beaches that came into existence after the urban redevelopment of the coastal area as part of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games preparations.
NOVA MAR BELLA
Nova Mar Bella Beach is approximately 500 m long and, together with Mar Bella, it forms part of the beaches that were created when the Barcelona seafront was restored. It is, therefore, a result of urban redevelopment as part of the 1992 Olympic Games.
LLEVANT
This is the last of the beaches created on the Barcelona coastline. It is situated alongside the Mar Bella beach and was opened to the city in the summer of 2006. Its length is approximately 380 m.
